ecclesiaphobia, ecclesiophobia: An irrational fear of a church, or of churches in general, or of organized religion. This may also include an abnormal phobia regarding priests or clergy in general.
ecdemiomania, ecdemomania, ecdemomonomania: A morbid impulse, or obsession, to travel or wander around.
ecomania, eciomania: 1. A morbid attitude toward the members of one's family [domineering behavior at home and humility toward other persons in authority]. 2. A pathological dislike of the members of one's family often resulting in a feeling that one must get away from them.

ecophobia: A fear of home life or surroundings, including household appliances, electrical equipment, bathtubs, household cleansers, and other common objects in the home.
edeomania: An abnormal interest in genitals.
egomania: 1. An excessive egotism or an extreme self-centeredness. 2. An abnormal interest in one's self.

eidemomania: A compulsion to wander or roam.
eisoptrophobia: An abnormal fear of mirrors [sometimes mistakenly used to refer to termites which is really isopterophobia].
Many modern phobias are based on ancient fears and superstitions about reflections.
electrophobia: An abnormal fear of electricity.
One electrophobe testified that she was overcome with a blinding terror whenever she was in the vicinity of an electrical appliance or a light switch or—horror of horrors—a thunderstorm. In such situations, she could think of nothing but fleeing; which was not always possible. So, she would open the refrigerator door with rubber-soled shoes and if a light bulb burned out, she would stay in the dark until someone else could change it for her.
Shopping for clothes was done only when absolutely necessary because the static from garments sent her running from the store. If there were a possibility that lightning might strike, she shut off everything in her house and sat alone in a darkened room until the storm passed.
eleutheromania, eleuthromania: A mad zeal or irresistible craving for freedom.
eleutherophobia: An irrational fear of freedom.
Quite often when some prisoners are released from prison, they will commit another crime so they will be returned to prison where there is greater security. This phenomenon may also apply to some previous communist countries where people can no longer depend on the "security" of the government for their life styles (food, shelter, medical care, etc.).
eleuthromania: Hypersexuality in females.
elevatorphobia: An abnormal dread of being in an elevator, of being trapped in an elevator, or of being harmed by a free-falling elevator.
Crowded elevators produce even greater feelings of being trapped and fears of losing emotional control, and resulting in anticipated embarrassment, humiliation, rejection, etc.
Fear of elevators influences where an individual lives, works, or conducts business. It can be a disabling fear because it limits one's activities.
elurophobia: An irrational fear of cats.
emetomania: A morbid desire to vomit, usually the result of some hysterical symptom or a characteristic of bulimiarexia (excessive food intake followed by self-induced vomiting).
emetophobia: An excessive fear of vomiting.
Some people with this phobia avoid situations that might remotely provoke vomiting in themselves or in others; such as, going on a boat, riding in a car, flying in an aircraft, riding in a roller-coaster, etc.
emissophobia: An obsessive fear of being reproached or criticized.
empleomania: A compulsive desire to hold public office or some public employment.
empresiomania: Another term for pyromania [abnormal interest in fire].

enetephobia, enetophobia: An abnormal fear of pins or needles.

enochlophobia: An abnormal fear of crowds.
enomania: An abnormal interest in wine either as a collector or as a drinker.
enophobia: An excessive hatred of wine or a fear of what it might do to a person if he/she drinks it.
enoptrophobia: A terror of mirrors.
enosimania: Obsessional belief by a person that he/she has committed an unpardonable sin.
enosiophobia: An excessive fear of sin or of being reproached for one's behavior.
